Grant Writing

YDL Ventures Ltd. Grants Division is focused on non-dilutive funding.

We provide grant writing services to companies and academic institutions exclusively in the life sciences sector, that are seeking non-dilutive funds in the field of life sciences.

YDL Ventures team of life-science experts is comprised of PhDs, engineers, and business development professionals with vast grant writing experience, both locally and globally. Our support team includes experts in multiple aspects, and we utilize their knowledge and experience as part of our service to our clients.

Not only we identify, consult, and strategize the grant, YDL Ventures also has the capability to write the grant entirely, build an appropriate budget, and support the grant’s submission and appear with the client in front of the relevant decision committees. We are involved in the grant to the extent our client is interested- from high strategic overview to actual grant writing.

Israeli Grants

The Ideation (Tnufa) Incentive Program

Designed for fledgling entrepreneurs to develop and validate innovative technological concepts.

Goal of the incentive program:
Support entrepreneurs reaching proof of concept and business feasibility of early stage projects.

Who is the incentive program for?

  • Entrepreneurs

  • New Israeli startup companies

What do you get?

  • Entrepreneurs and new Israeli startup companies can receive a conditional grant of up to NIS 200,000 over a period of two years: NIS 100,000 awarded each year (85% of the approved budget).

R&D Fund ​

The incentive program supports commercial companies currently developing new products or upgrading an existing technology. The program offers the largest financial incentive awarded by the State of Israel for Israeli corporations’ R&D activity and is offered to all sectors with the aim of strengthening and advancing the Israeli economy.

Goal of the incentive program:
To encourage technological innovation, thereby strengthening and advancing the Israeli economy. To
offer support to startups and investment-intensive corporations for R&D in a wide variety of fields,
including hardware, software, communications, complex systems, life sciences, medical devices, cyber,
IOT, fintech, cleantech, and others.

Who is the incentive program for?
Israeli corporations at different stages and from all industrial sectors – from startups to investmentintensive corporations engaged in technological innovation, interested in developing or upgrading existing products and technologies.

What do you get?

  • Financial support of between 20%-50% of the approved R&D expenditure.

  • Corporation owned by minority population and/or UltraOrthodox and/or women entrepreneurs of amounts up to 75% funding in the first year and 70% in the second year.

Seed Incentive Program

Co-investment opportunity with the Israel Innovation Authority in early-stage startups operating in high risk

Goal of the Incentive Program:

To increase the number of seed stage investments and to incentivize more experienced, venture capital investors to invest the young, early stage startups operating in high risk.

Who is the incentive program for? 

Early-stage Israeli startups that have a signed term sheet with an experienced venture capital investor.

What do you get?

  • Startups: The Israel Innovation Authority will invest 40% of the total investment round and up to NIS 3.5 million grant. 

  • VCs: Will be able to exercise a warrant issued by the startup in the level of the Innovation Authority's grant, during a period of up to 3 years.

R&D Infrastructure and Equipment

This incentive program enables the establishment and joint operation of R&D infrastructure for the industry via an association of users (a group of corporations operating in similar fields) or by subsidizing R&D equipment for service providers, providing access to the equipment for Israeli industry.

Goal of the incentive program:

To promote sharing of vital R&D infrastructure between users to create added value for companies and to share the
financial burden.

Who is the incentive program for?

  • Companies engaged in R&D and that are interested in collaborating in the establishment of R&D infrastructure critical to their activity or to distribute and assimilate new technologies.

  • Companies interested in designated infrastructure equipment in order to provide innovative R&D services to different corporations.

What do you get?

  • The Users Association: a grant of 55% or 66% of approved expenditure, including the infrastructure’s specification, establishment, and ongoing operation for a period of up to 6 years. The Association members supplement up to 100% from the Association’s expenditure.

  • A company interested in infrastructure equipment: a one-time grant of 55% or 66% of approved expenditure (purchase, installation, and initial preparation for the equipment’s operation).

EIC Accelerator - SME Instrument
European Innovation Council (EIC) programme aims to identify and support breakthrough technologies and game changing innovations to create new markets and scale up internationally.
Main Funding opportunities
  • EIC Pathfinder - Support to research teams to research or develop an emerging breakthrough technology

  • EIC Transition - The EIC Transition funding scheme builds on promising research results to demonstrate and mature the technology and develop business plans
